06/01/11  LAHORE: Chief of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman has described the recent increase in the prices of petroleum products as a cruel act of brutality on the masses ‘that will unleash a flood of inflation’.

Holding a telephonic conversation with Maulana Amjad Khan, Central Secretary Information of JUI-F in Makkah Mukarama, Maulana Fazl said the government should not only withdraw immediately the recent hike in POL products prices but also curb inflation on war footing basis.

He advised the government that instead of receiving instructions attached loans from the IMF, it should cut its lavish spending.

The JUI-F Chief said his party would continue to push its struggle towards resolution of people’s problems from every platform.
