28/05/12  The petitions would seek cancellation of the National Assembly Speaker Fehmida Mirza’s ruling

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz and Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaaf on Monday filed a petition against National Assembly Speaker’s ruling on Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani s conviction in contempt of court case.

The petition challenges NA Speaker Dr Fehmida Mirza s refusal to forward reference against PM Gilani to the Election Commission of Pakistan for his disqualification, a month after the Supreme Court convicted him.

On April 26, PM Gilani was convicted for contempt of court for not writing a letter to the Swiss authorities for reopening money laundering cases against President Asif Ali Zardari.
