Parties must exercise democracy within: SC |

17/04/12 Justice Arif Hussain Khilji remarked there should be democracy within the political parties as well.
Three-member bench under CJP Iftikhar Mohammed Chaudhry heard the case on electoral expenses. The CJP asked the MQM attorney Farogh Nasim as to what was the legal position of the funds given by a candidate to the party. The court further said the impression that someone has bought the ticket should not be given. In MQM such a person is disqualified, claimed the MQM lawyer.
Justice Tariq Pervez observed funds given by the candidates are owned by the party chief instead of the party. |
