  Kacheri culture needs to be changed: Chief Justice

15/07/11   RAWALPINDI: Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry said that Kacheri culture needed to be changed with ending corruption.

Addressing a ceremony organized by Rawalpindi High Court Bar Association here, Chief Justice said that wrong interrogation and weak prosecution led to acquittal of accused, resultantly courts have to face all the blame.

He said that the courts can only give sentence on the basis of strong evidences and prosecution. CJ expressed hope that police and prosecution's sector would improve their reputation.

Justice Iftikhar said that corruption would not be tolerated in judiciary. He said dozens of senior judicial officers have been sacked on corruption charges.
