ARD vows no deal or dialogue with govt
15/11/06 ISLAMABAD: ARD meeting decided Tuesday that the alliance would not enter into any kind of deal or dialogue with the government.
ARD Chairman Makhdoom Amin Fahim presided over the meeting held here to discuss the collective political situation prevailing over the country including Bajaur and Dargai incidents.
The meeting demanded the immediate resignation from President Pervez Musharraf.
Talking to journalists at a briefing, ARD Secretary-General Iqbal Zafar Jhagra said the meeting unanimously decided to speed up the communications with the opposition parties.
He said that in this regard, a proposal to call All Parties Conference is under consideration.
Iqbal Zafar Jhagra said that the protest drive against the government would be waged in three stages.
Iqbal Zafar Jhagra said that ARD demanded the rulers to quit powers; otherwise, one joint and separate public drives would be waged against the government.
He said that that federation weakened during the last seven years; hence he (Musharraf) should directly resign.
“In the presence of President Musharraf, no fair and free elections could even be imagined,” he said.
Terming the Bajaur and Dargai incidents as extremely deplorable, Iqbal Zafar Jhagra remarked, “political solution to such incidents should be sought for.”
Speaking on the occasion, ARD leader Zafar Ali Shah said that the alliance has unanimously decided not to strike any deal or enter into any dialogue with the government. |
