British nationals advised against Pak travels

13/03/10  LONDON: Britain issued travel advisory to its citizens not to travel to Pakistan in view of potential terror threats in the country.

According to a statement issued here from British government, there is potential threat of terrorism and sectarian riots in Pakistan; accordingly, the British nationals have been urged to be on alert.

According to travel advisory, the intending travelers are advised to take information about the local situation before traveling to Pakistan; the British nationals are urged to take directives from media, FCO Travel Advisors and the security section of British High Commission in this connection.

The British nationals have been warned against travel to the tribal areas, South and North Waziristan Agency (SWA) and the NWFP areas including Peshawar, Kohat, Tank, Bannu, Lakki Marwat, Dera Ismail Khan, Swat, Buner, Lower Dir, Chitral and northwestern areas of Balochistan.
