SC approves formula to fix sugar price

30/10/09  ISLAMABAD : Supreme Court on Friday has approved a price formula submitted on behalf of the government and sugar mill owners. According to the channel, Chief Justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry headed the three-member jury and approved the joint formula presented by the government and mill owners to fix sugar price. During the hearing, a report on sugar prices was presented in the court that stated that 30 percent sugar available in the stock is enough for public use, therefore dealers will buy sugar at Rs. 36/kg from the sugar mills, while selling it at Rs. 40/kg.
