Zardari, Gilani discuss NRO, KLB, Waziristan operation

ISLAMABAD, Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani Friday called on President Asif Ali Zardari and discussed the issues of national importance. Sources said Prime Minister Gilani informed the President about his recent visit to China. The two leaders, the sources said, also discussed the implications of Kerry-Lugar bill, law and order situation and the planned military operation in Waziristan. It was also learnt that the two leaders discussed the future line of action to handle the situation that would arise in the aftermath of the Waziristan operation. Sources maintained that the President and the Prime Minister also discussed the National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO) tabled in the National Assembly on Friday on the directives of the Supreme Court of Pakistan in its landmark judgement on July 31. The Prime Minister informed the President about the meeting, which was to be held with the military and political leadership in the afternoon to discuss the latest security situation of the country and the steps taken by the military and civil agencies to handle it.
