08/04/11 Bollywood actors Hrithik Roshan and Priyanka Chopra have joined the celebrity bandwagon, extending support to social activist Anna Hazare, who is on an indefinite hunger strike to press for a stringent anti-graft law.
"I support Anna Hazare. Its TIME to make a CHANGE!" Hrithik wrote on microblogging site Twitter.
Priyanka also took the help of internet to voice her support.
"Just read about Anna Hazare. It's incredible to see the support he has received from across the country... Also what's remarkable is the uprising of the youth of our country in support of Anna Hazare. I pledge my support to this cause, " she said.
Filmmaker Farhan Akhtar and actress Sonakshi Sinha also rallied behind the 72-year-old campaigner.
"I support Anna Hazare. Our country has suffered from corruption for too long... NOW is the time we get together and do something about it, " wrote Farhan.
Sonakshi said: "It's usually ONE person that makes a difference. Mahatma Gandhi, Dalai Lama, Abe Lincoln, Mother Teresa. Kudos Anna Hazare. We're with u."
Director Madhur Bhandarkar was the first from the film industry to go and meet Hazare at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi and offer his support. |
