Cotton price hike will damage textile sector

KARACHI, The recent increment in cotton prices will severely damage textile sector. Chairman Pakistan Apparel Forum Javed Bilwani said yarn is not available for local power looms due to cotton exports and if the situation continues, textile mills will closed within two to three months. Chairman Pakistan Cotton Ginners Association Rana Abdul Sattar said ban on exports will damage cotton exporters, farmers and ginners. Therefore, ban on export is inappropriate.
