  Karachi Traders not to pay bills in Protest against fuel price

KARACHI, All Karachi Tajir Ittehad has decided not to pay any bills or taxes and hold out protest rallies and display protest banners in all markets from April 5 against government move of unprecedented hike in petroleum prices.

The decision was taken in a meeting held at AKTI office, presided over by Vice Chairman AKTI Jameel Ahmed Paracha. Representatives of various trader bodies attended the meeting.

Paracha said that ultimatum given to government in connection to withdraw petroleum prices hike decision would expire on April 4, adding if government failed to oblige traders demand they would stop paying bills and other taxes from Thursday.

He said in the next phase All Pakistan Tajir Ittehad would hold country-wide protest demonstrations against government decision. He said government was pushing traders into financial problems and they were left with no choice but to launch civil disobedient movement against the government.
