Against the backdrop of mounting tensions between India and Pakistan, an unexpectedly humane gesture has been witnessed on part of India. Apparently, the prevailing hostilities between the two countries have not prevented India’s Minister for External Affairs Sushma Swaraj from trying to help a father get a visa for his two-and-a-half-year baby for his treatment in India.

A Pakistani national, with the Twitter username Ken Sid, tweeted a plea on May 24 to Pakistani Minister for Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz and Sushma Swaraj, asking for help for his son’s medical treatment. Apparently, the kid had been unable to secure a visa for his medical treatment in India.
